Rojas + Rubensteen Projects
8051 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, Florida

A Roundtable Discussion with AIRIE and Wild Billboard artist Franky Cruz to discuss the issues of creating art in the wilderness and the resulting impact on the community.. The billboard featuring an image by Cruz photographed during his May 2015 residency will be displayed at 55th st & 2nd ave in Little Haiti from November 7th until December 5th. The Roundtable Discussion will be attended by several AIRIE board members, artists and scientists who will actively paricipate in the stimulating dialogue centered on connecting artists, the environment and the community.

After the gallery discussion, the group will reconvene at Churchill’s Pub, located less than a mile away, directly under the Wild Billboard at 5501 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL, 33137.

We are so pleased to gather at Rojas + Rubensteen Projects, 8051 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33138. Their inaugural exhibition, entitled Water Me, is an immersive experience designed to activate visitors and stimulate conversation. Cruz created an exceptional site-specific installation for the exhibition, which includes artists Hila Amram, Orestes de la Paz, Naomi Safran-Hon and Troizel Carr and Isabel Hui Saldana.

The Wild Billboard Project, sponsored in part by a Knight Arts Challenge grant, brings a bit of the Everglades into the city by creating billboards emblazoned with large scale, artful images reflecting the South Florida environment. This image is one of four billboards executed by AIRIE, Inc. during 2015-16.
