Placeholder is excited to announce its premiere show: [place art here]. A group show that has pulled together small-scaled works from 30 artists to celebrate the launch of this new project space run by Javier Hernandez.
Focusing on smaller scaled works, the show will exhibit the way the artist can achieve massive ideas while under the constraints of minimal size. This collection of painting, sculpture, and multi-media will examine the accessibility of small objects and how personal such works can be. Installed in the form of a flea market, the show will create an environment that places the audience in a similar space where precious collectables are often discovered. Where people often amass the things that slowly become cemented into their fixed possessions, transforming over time into symbols of personal history and experience.
