The exploration of Vizcaya’s past continues with the Phase II launch of Lost Spaces and Stories of Vizcaya. The two-part centennial exhibition aims to revive and reinterpret lost aspects of Vizcaya’s history and ventures into the estate’s gardens and leisure spaces with Phase II. An opening reception on November 29, 2016 will highlight the new installations and feature special performances by participating artists from both phases.
The second installation of Lost Spaces features local artists creating works in four areas related to Vizcaya’s gardens and recreational spaces: the Casba, South Property, the Casino and Recreational Rooms. Like Phase I, these projects highlight elements that have been lost to Vizcaya’s present interpretation and focus on the original design intent that no longer exists.
